The Temple


The Palatine Masonic Temple at 455 West Dundee Road is home to Palatine Lodge No. 314 and to a number of other Masonic bodies. Between them the building is in use most weeks of the month.

Palatine Lodge meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month, with dinner at 6:30 PM and the gavel at 7:30 PM. Visiting brethren are always welcome and should bring a current dues card. If you are visiting for the first time, write ahead so that a brother can meet you at the door.

Palatine Lodge No. 314

First and third Tuesdays

A Masonic lodge, often termed a private lodge or constituent lodge, is the basic organizational unit of Freemasonry. It is also commonly used as a term for the building in which such a unit meets.

Second Thursday

A second Blue Lodge working under the Grand Lodge of Illinois, with a long history in the Chicagoland area, meeting in this building alongside Palatine Lodge.

Palatine Chapter No. 206, Royal Arch Masons

First and third Wednesdays

The Holy Royal Arch is a degree of Freemasonry present in all the main Masonic systems. In some it is worked as part of Craft Freemasonry and in others as an appendant order. Royal Arch Masons meet as a Chapter.

Cryptic Council No. 46

First and third Wednesdays

Cryptic Masonry is the second part of the York Rite system of Masonic degrees, and the last within the Rite that deals specifically with the Hiramic legend. These degrees are the gateway to the Temple restoration rituals, or Second Temple legend.

Bethel Commandery No. 36, Knights Templar

First and third Wednesdays

The Chivalric Orders are a set of three Orders culminating in the grade of Knight Templar. In the United States the body includes the Illustrious Order of the Red Cross, the Order of Malta and the Order of the Temple.

Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 992

Third Monday

The Order of the Eastern Star is open to Master Masons and to the female relatives, spouses and descendants of Master Masons. Its ritual is similar in structure to the ceremonies of the lodge, and its teachings draw on characters from both the Old and New Testaments.
