About Palatine Lodge 314

A lodge of the Grand Lodge of Illinois, meeting in Palatine.

About Us

Palatine Lodge No. 314, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, works under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Illinois. The brethren meet at the Palatine Masonic Temple on every First and Third Tuesday, (except July and August only Third Tuesday), with dinner at 6:30 PM and the gavel sounding at 7:30 PM.

Through its history the lodge has dedicated its energies to a strong sense of unity and fellowship among its members, while welcoming visiting brethren from throughout the North-West suburbs and beyond. Whether you are a Master Mason looking for a Masonic home, or a man considering petitioning for the first time, you will find the door open.

What We Stand For

Support

A new Mason deserves to be welcomed, supported and properly guided. Alongside the traditional one-to-one mentorship of the statewide Intender program for Candidates, Entered Apprentices, Fellowcrafts and Master Masons, the lodge holds regular study classes covering ritual, Masonic etiquette and open discussion of Masonic values, with guest speakers from the appendant bodies. Newer brethren are encouraged to take small parts in degree work from the start.

Community

Masonry is at its best when it is visible and useful. The lodge supports the Illinois Child Identification Program, the Masonic Children’s Charities and the Masonic youth groups, and looks for opportunities to partner in the town’s activities. We give our time, not only our money.

Family

Fellowship does not stop at the door of the lodge room. Regular social events are open to spouses, partners and families, from the annual picnic to bowling nights and outings. The intention is a strong familial network that allows for inclusion and participation wherever possible.

Our Priorities

The lodge sets its course each year against a short list of priorities.

  • Run a well-developed and continually evolving Intender educational program that moves men successfully through their degrees and encourages new Masons to get involved early in their Masonic tenure.
  • Provide ongoing officer development and coaching focused on leadership and on managing the plans of the lodge, inspiring interested brethren to seek office and drawing on the talent of active Past Masters.
  • Communicate effectively with the membership so that every brother stays informed and connected.
  • Advance our involvement in the community and raise the visibility of the lodge as a positive, charitable organization.
  • Promote strong fellowship through varied social activities that include families wherever possible.
  • Compete for and win the Grand Lodge Award of Excellence year over year.
