Freemasonry is a worldwide fraternal organization. Its members are joined together by shared ideals of a moral and metaphysical nature and, in most of its branches, by a common belief in a Supreme Being.
No man is ever invited to become a Mason. A petitioner must ask of his own free will and accord, which is why the fraternity says simply: to be one, ask one.
